Thus the Bible Says

A Fairy Tale about a Golden Fish

The relationship between the old woman and the golden fish from the fairy tale of a Russian poet Alexander Pushkin resemble the relations between Satan and God very much. Thanks to the fish the old beggar woman became a tsarina (queen). By the mercy of the Heavenly Creator before Lucifer rebelled against God, he got, putting it in the modern language, the office of Top Manager of the Universe. Here is how The Lord God characterized this created superangel: "...You seal the measure, full of wisdom and perfect in beauty. You were the anointed cherub that covers, and I had put you in the holy height of God where you were; you have walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire. You were perfect in your ways from the day that you were created, until iniquity was found in you: Your heart was lifted up because of your beauty; you have spoiled your wisdom because of your brightness..." (The Bible, Old Testament, Book of Prophet Ezekiel, chapter 28, verses 12, 14, 15, 17).

In the fairy tale the insatiable old lady wanted to take the place of the golden fish. The former leader of God's angels was seized with the same desire: "...For you have said in your heart, I will go up to the heavens, I will exalt my throne above the stars of God: I will go up above the heights of the clouds; I will be like the Most High" (The Bible, Old Testament, Book of Prophet Isaiah, chapter 14, verses 13-14).

The maniacal longing for absolute power of the old woman ended in a broken wash-tub, and in the devil's case - in expulsion from Heaven: "Your pride is brought down to the grave, and the noise of your harps. The maggot is spread under you, and the worms cover you. How you are fallen from the heavens, O shining star, son of the morning! How you are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations!" (The Bible, Old Testament, Book of Prophet Isaiah, chapter 14, verses 13-14).

As Jesus Christ said, "...everlasting fire prepared for the Devil and his angels" (The Bible, New Testament, Gospel according to Matthew, chapter 25, verse 41) is waiting for the fallen cherub who seized by lies power on the Earth and rejected every opportunity to reconcile himself to God.

However in his dying agony he is very dangerous for Earth inhabitants. The Word of God warns: "Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walks about, seeking whom he may devour" (The Bible, New Testament, 1 Epistle of Peter, chapter 5, verse 8).
